Welcome to our committee page!
The NABS committees are an excellent way to contribute your ideas and have your voice heard. Participating on a committee offers the chance to develop leadership skills and get to know fellow blind students living all across the country. We are a fun group of people and encourage you to get involved. Take a look at the committees listed below and consider joining one. We would love to have you.

- Membership Committee:
The membership committee is responsible for recruiting new NABS members. This
committee is crucial to our success. If you are outgoing and would like to
help us get new people excited about joining NABS, we strongly urge you to
join this committee. We look forward to your contributions.
- Public Relations Committee: The public relations committee focuses on getting the word about NABS out
to as many people as possible. Some of the projects the PR committee is tasked
with include publicizing NABS through social conference calls, creating promotional
materials, and maintaining the NABS Website to reflect our most current events.
Remember that the more we can publicize NABS, the more successful NABS will
be in increasing awareness about issues imperative to the success of all blind
students.
- Fundraising committee:
The fund raising committee is responsible for raising money for NABS. Our
most successful fund raising project is the newspaper delivery we do at each
annual ACB Convention. The newspaper delivery takes a tremendous amount of
planning and participation on the behalf of NABS Members. If you would like
to take part in the newspaper delivery project at convention, your assistance
is greatly appreciated. Your participation in our fundraising efforts will
go a long way in ensuring the continued growth and success of this fine organization.
- Technology Committee:
The technology committee is primarily responsible for helping manage our website
behind the scenes. A recent accomplishment for this committee was the implementation
of a system that now allows current and new NABS members to pay their dues
on-line. If you have an interest in technology, than this is the committee
for you.
- Convention Planning Committee:
The convention planning committee is the committee that makes the ACB annual
convention such a great experience for NABS members. Each year, this committee
works hard to create a program designed to help students make the most out
of their convention experience. In order to make our portion of convention
a success, we need your help. If you enjoy planning and organizing events,
and would like to have a hand in what goes on at our convention, we welcome
your input.
- Mentoring Committee:
The Mentoring Committee works to provide mentoring and leadership opportunities
to high school students entering college, and college students transitioning
into the workforce. We do this by collaborating with existing mentoring networks,
and potentially developing our own. If you believe that one-on-one mentoring
is an effective means to empower and encourage, join us in designing our program.
